i love Begg Rock. It is fascinating on a pitch black night when the swells are up and you hear the roaring of the swell around the rock and the haunting moan of the green whistle buoy... It's like being alone in an empty cathedral..

Good safe anchorage to the west near the big rock; very well defined break. I took some video of a huge swell out there in the late 90's. It was a masssive wall of water encompassing all three major pinicles. The last couple of nights i spent out there, the wind picked up at night so a little after midnight, i pulled the anchor and drifted toward home the rest of the night--one of the few places in the bight that you can get away with that:) Knocked about 5 miles off the trip home!

The underwater topography is unique with sheer rocks jutting up from the bottom in several areas. You're going to love Begg Rock, it's that different~
