Sightings of a wolfeel near the Redondo Barge was exciting news last week. After trying to compile enough information as to its whereabouts we finally concluded it was under a concrete block at nearby Phil's Reef. Merry, Frank Lukowski and I dropped and I spotted it's little head sticking out from its den. I fired off one quick shot before settling on the bottom, which was fortunate because it ducked inside for the rest of the dive.

The metridiums were all closed and emitting a stringy substance that seemed to be a delicacy for sheepcrabs. We found a few octopus nests, but none were hatching. I promised Frank some nests and Mola Molas, and right on cue, four Molas showed up and didn't seem to mind the clumsy intruders with the flashing lights. Visibility was 15-18 feet with a lot of suspended sand, so I got more backscatter photos than animal shots.
