What's the best way to seal the tank valve for an old US Divers steel 72 tank (1958)? 1/2 in thread with a newer Sherwood valve. Maybe I need to rewrap the thread tape. Put it in the pool and small leak the first time. Is pipe dope better. I'm sure the valve has a tapered threads. Passed hydro with flying colors. Help and thanks, Brian Xavier Visalia, CA
