Jeff,

With all due respects you are asking me to tell you about the history of the world of diving...

A very short synopsis:
Aerophore by Rouquayrol & Denayrouse-1860s first effective SCUBA--basis for Gagnon's "Gas-o-gen" which he and the God of UW converted to the Aqua lung in 1943

Riichi- developed manufactured and sold an effective Japanese SCUBA unit in 1913

LePrieu-Fernez,-A true pioneer in the UW world--long forgotten..first to us compressed air, first SCUBA classes, first SCUBA club..1930s

Commeinhes- Had a very effective SCUBA unit in late 1930s-The unit was dove to 175 feet in early 1940s He was KIA in WW11 fighting to liberate his country from the Germans while JYC was cavorting at the sea side as part of German Vichy France-If Commeinhes had not been KIA the world would have been using Commeinhes SCUBA

1940s US's Dr. Lambersen gave the name SCUBA to his rebreather.

Now you know a little about ANTIQUE SCUBA...BUT I would suggest that you do your own research and report back

There are many many companies beginning with California based Sea Net of the 1940s that have produced diving equipment, most were based in California, two were from Chicago area, in the mid west- Dacor & Demone, both long gone.

Maybe you can begin your search for VINTAGE SCUBA equipment and also report back...

SDM,
