You're right, there is something intimidating about the North Coast. Even on the calmest days and days that seem overall benign there is always some sort of underlying threat that I can't always put my finger on.
It keeps us on our toes and never fully lets us relax and become complacent. That's probably a good thing.

Not to hijack Mike's post completely, I would love to do some exploration down along the Big Sur Coast. Jade cove is on my bucket list along with any other place I can get down to.
Maybe kayak diving would be a great way to get some range while keeping it simple.

Great to hear about the rig. There is another run in the plans.
It's going to be time for me to plan a trip down and set up in the Vet's Parking lot again.
Maybe even get to dive it finally :)
