Sea lions are vulnerable on a number of fronts; being shot by boat captains, vital forage being EXPORTED, domoic acid poisoning, respiratory infection, etc,etc,etc.

It is good policy to maintain the highest sustainable levels in the event of an emerging threat--> which copuld be happening now.

Does anyone blame the sea lions for their current plight???

I'm thinkin' maybe it wouldn't hurt to have a 10, maybe 20 MILLION pounds of forage swimming around in our shared waters...

Ya think...?
