One big psychological issue is the long drive to the North Coast spots... folks who make that long travel feel they need to dive.

These accidents happened from Salt Point up past Fort Bragg.

Even on 'good' days, sleeper waves claim lives. If its rough, get lodging and wait for a better day or just enjoy the coast from land.
