Belated Dive Report: Catalina aboard the Great Escape |
Posted by Chris Grossman on June 26, 2013 at 22:00:30: On Sunday May 26, 2012 I went to Catalina aboard the Great Escape. The first dive was at Torqua Springs. I encountered a large Haliotis corrugata (Pink Abalone) and several Loxorhynchus grandis (Sheep Crab).
The next dive was at Hen Rock, and I saw another Haliotis corrugata (Pink Abalone).
The third dive was at Ripper's Cove I found a Chaenopsis alepidota (Orangethroat Pikeblenny).
The final was at yellowtail point where I saw some Lysmata californica (Red Rock Shrimp), several Juvenile Hypsypops rubicundus (Garibaldi), and a Laila cockerelli.
It was a great day of diving with excellent food on a great roomy and comfortable boat. Click here to see all the pictures from this trip ©2013 Chrtis Grossman, diver.net
