Our group of divers had an interesting dive at North PV last night. Average conditions with 8-12' vis and 68 degree water in the shallows with all kinds of life from schools of Mackeral, Large Angel sharks, a few Barracuda and the usual shallow beach fish. We specifically target Halibut and came up empty. A diver in our group came up to another group of divers that were carrying large spears and had an Angel shark dangling from his fish clip. You all know we are hunters, but the sight of that Angel shark dangling from the fish clip just didnt seem right. I know that it is legal, but this is where hunters should draw the line, what is next, Bat Rays, Guitarfish, Leopard Sharks. Is this what the hunting divers are now taking?. Hell, I could have taken 4 huge Angel Sharks, they are a hell of a lot easier to find than Halibut. Us hunters should have this debate, legal vs ethical.
