Over Labor Day, BillM and I went searching for warm water and lush coal gardens. I wanted to do this without using a passport, or going to Hawaii. Off to Texas we went. 3 days aboard the Fling, out of Freeport. 11 dives, avg temp 84 degrees, vis way over 100'. We dove 3 main areas, The Flower Gardens, Stetson's Bank, and two oil rigs.

The Fling is a liveaboard along the lines of the Horizon, Peace, or Truth boats. It's not the Nai'a, The hardest working crew were the galley cooks. They were cooking when I went to bed and I awoke to the smell of breakfast. They really have this open water diving figured out. One of their questions on their application is "Have you ever dove salt water?"

Check out my video of the trip.
