Big Island is the best diving. Try Honaunau (Place of Refuge) south of Kona. Used to dive there every Sunday. Deep, clear, jump off the two step. Puako and Mahukona (Old sugar Mill) to the north island are great places also. Lots of spots around Kona. Love Pahoehoe Beach Park. Be careful and respect Hawaiian waters. I've gotten my tail kicked there a few times. Great diving.
