Fascinating history, though not a dive I would make.
I really like the City on the Bay and there is so much there. Your picture shows other things.
Look at that hill side that goes into the water at the north side of the Golden Gate, right
behind your red marker line. The area is only accessible by boat, but there are supposed to be
good abalone pickings there. Of course those are some Northy Coast conditions. Cold and dark, but
quite vital.
Now as far as I know, right under the bridge is some underwater structure that deflects the
incoming current straight up. It makes quite a boil. If you are there at the right time, the striped bass bight like crazy. They put up an excellent fight and are extremely tasty.
Then again, the whole Bay is prime sailing territory.
San Francisco is easily my favorite city. There is so much to do.
It's almost as much fun as diving... well, when it's too rough to dive. Enjoy the diving, seahunt
