Hi Roger, I'm not defending the fisherman. I'm just not jumping to conclusions. Threshers show up in Santa Monica Bay in the spring and are excellent eating. It would be reasonable to assume they are targeted. It would be very difficult to land a GWS from a pier without attracting a lot of negative attention. It seems like divers are quick to point a finger at fishermen. I've done both for most of my life.
