No kidding. In addition to all the other warm-water species that have been working their way north lately, the latest is a WHALE SHARK!

Some of these are no surprise and reside here quietly or randomly show up but others are certainly news worthy. Let's see, this is my short list that divers and fishers have seen lately:

turtles at Catalina
smooth hammerhead sharks off SD and oil rigs
manta ray at SCI
slender mola (Ranzania laevis) at Two Harbors
loads of yellow tail
finescale triggerfish
and others.....

But a WHALE SHARK. That's news. We should all be as lucky as these folks:
