I had a great summer--did a lot of open water swimming. My favorite situation is to find the biggest kelp i could and drop the anchor and ride along all day! That is what i did with the sunfish--after i got out of the water, a marlin tore the surface about 15 feet away!--I saw the makos schmaltzing off the west end of Catalina. I did see one of those hammerheads this summer--, dark blue, as it swam by it sort of slithered through the water with its tail straight behind, more like an eel; very strange~ I saw a big green turtle, tuna, yellowtail.

I just bought a panning underwater camera with a 90' teather--That is going to be a blast watching what happens at night in the kelp forest!
