Posted by Roger on February 09, 2015 at 21:33:35: The king harbor boat hoists are closed and the website (city website, not the hoist website) says they should be back online in march. No info on why both are closed, the gate guard knows nothing, no response to phone calls or email, so I went to a harbor commission meeting tonight... the city took the hoists over a few months ago, inspected them, and found them in unacceptable condition. One has or had already been scavenged for parts for the better one. So both are red tagged and closed. City has gotten 2 bids and is working on a third. They hope to have one working again in march or april....
