Dont forget White Sea Bass, a fish that was almost gone from our waters until nearshore gill nets were outlawed and grow out pens funded by fishermen released millions of juvi sea bass. Now 60 lb fish are common and are fished heavily by spearos and H&L guys. Black Sea bass are now common at Catalina and select locations along Laguna. These are great examples of placing no take status on a species that well deserves it, and proper management of another leading to healthy populations to be enjoyed if you want to eat, or admire,,,,, just say no to blanket closures!!!!!!!!
