Wanna Dive the Midnight Hour? See all the Berthella nudis that usually cover Johnson's Pinnacle? Perhaps even see some giant kelp at Catalina?

Dive with LSD (Laguna Sea Dwellers) on Saturday, July 11, on the Magician to Santa Catalina Island's West End! We are hoping to visit the Midnight Hour wreck, perhaps Johnson's Rock pinnacle and a third dive. This will all depend upon conditions. The two sites mentioned are not suitable for those who are novices given the depths (MH rests at 110'.)

We have available spots and we will soon assign the bunks in order of payment so please sign up quickly!

SATURDAY, JULY 11, SANTA CATALINA ISLAND'S WEST END on the MAGICIAN!

DIVE TRIP: Saturday July 11 2015 departing @ 7:00 AM to Santa Catalina Island.
BOARDING TIME: 6:00 am. Do not arrive later than 6:30 am. If you arrive late the evening before or before 5:00 am, please be very quiet as your buddies are likely asleep in the bunks below. Boarding is available anytime after 8 pm Friday evening.
BOAT: Magician http://catalinaexplorer.com
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Divers with sufficient experience to dive in deep water (For example, Midnight Hour is sitting in 110 FSW.)
DIVES: 3 tank
COST: Members $125 and non-members $140
WHAT YOU MUST BRING: All equipment including tanks and weights. Bring warm apres-dive clothing.

HOW TO SIGN UP: As we did last year, we want members to sign up through the LSD website to reserve your spot. Go to:

http://lagunaseadwellers.com

and log in at the Login button. Then select the Boats button. You will see a list of charters and can register there. You can pay by PayPal through a button that will appear on your My Account screen. You should also receive an email with a link for PayPal payment.

Non-members are also welcome! Please email: boats at lagunaseadwellers dot com and include your name(s), email address(es) and cell phone number(s). We will send you payment links.

CANCELLATION: Please advise us immediately if you must cancel your reservation for a spot. If you reserve a spot and cancel before 14 days of departure, you will be eligible for a refund. Closer to the charter than 14 days, you will be responsible for payment for the spot in case of a "no show" or if we cannot re-fill the spot from a waiting list. The boat committee will assist in re-filling those empty spots from a waiting list if available or promote the spots to other dive clubs. If we re-fill the spot, you will bear no responsibility to pay for it.

WAIVERS: All participants in our boat charters must fill out and sign an LSD waiver before departure from the dock. LSD members need only fill out a waiver once per year. Our waivers will be available at club meetings and on the boat. The boat may also have its own waiver requirement.

BUNKS: These include a pillow and blanket. You may wish to bring additional items for warmth in the winter. A flashlight is very helpful during "lights out."
AIR FILLS AND NITROX: Free air fills are included in the charter, but you are expected to bring your own full tank for the first dive. Nitrox is available for an extra charge and can be filled into any tank. A nitrox-clean tank is not required. Do not bring a nitrox-clean tank to this charter if you want to preserve the clean state. (You may bring an empty tank for a Nitrox fill.)
FOOD AND DRINK: Breakfast, lunch, snacks and soft drinks are included in the charter. You may bring alcoholic beverages on board but these may not be consumed until you have completed your dives. The boat is drug free. If you are a vegetarian or have special dietary needs, please let us know. We may be able to accommodate your needs. Refrigerator space is not available so bringing your own very small cooler may be necessary to keep adult beverages cool.
CAMERAS: A camera wash tank is available on deck for after each use in salt water. Cameras should be placed on the large galley table to the left of the stairs down to the bunk room or in the new camera storage shelves on deck. Please confine your camera storage, maintenance etc. to that table leaving other tables free for participants for eating, drinking and other uses. Let's avoid camera sprawl. Setting up and closing up your camera at home before you depart for the boat is an act of kindness to your fellow divers.
HUNTERS: LSD charters are generally non-hunting charters. Please do not bring spear guns or other hunting gear.
DIVE BAGS: If you bring a large dive bag, please bring a smaller egg crate or box or mesh bag for storage of gear under the benches during dives. The larger bag can be stored in the bow area or stored back in your car.
BATHROOMS AND SHOWERS: There are two marine heads, sinks, hot water and one enclosed hot water shower. Please make your showers short. 20 salty cold tired divers may be waiting outside the door. 5 minutes per shower and 20 divers takes a long time.

See the Magician website above for the location and driving directions. The bunk map is also on that website. For those who have not dived from the Magician, it is a great boat run by a very professional captain and crew. Be sure to express your appreciation of the great service by making good use of the tip jar that will be available as we approach our return berth!

Thanks!
