Wreck Diving in South Carolina and Reef Diving in Florida |

Did a wreck dive in SC out of Little River. Dove the Charleston Tug (Myrtle Beach Scuba). Dive to 60 feet and 40 foot vis. Lots of barracuda, spadefish (large angel fish), and saw a few big cobia. Great dive and got to hang on the rope on the way up. Don't boat dive much but it was great. The east coast is different- had to motor for an hour to get to 60 feet. Dive a few reefs in FL also. Good reefs around Ft. Pierce (middle of state) but had to go way out to find them and they are shallow there. The reefs come in closer near Lauderdale and down south, but there are lots and lots of people. They also take people out on boats to dive the reefs, but IO guess you could say shore diving in FL is pretty minimal. Got real spoiled with the CA coast. Brian X. |
