There really are some huge fish there. We were there the last day or so of July (too early for the count). Vis was awful as you found. Good thing the GSB like to hover above the wreck. Vis in North SM Bay in June and July was really poor. Warm clear water on top and then much cooler real dirty water below. I'm heading for Catalina - I want to see more than 5 feet!
