I spent 1 night at catalina btwn 2000 and 2012 despite having spent over 300 nights off shore during that time..Since retirement, i occasionally stage at Catalina for a night there on the way off shore or on the way back. The worst encounters i have ever had on the water have on the water were obnoxious private lobster hoopers at Catalina! I have never seen a hooper anywhere but there and the island is LOUSY with them! They are a unbelievably RUDE! Hate this season!
