I bought some rubber weight belt material at Sea D Sea, and it lasted a couple years. This year I got tar on it from the el capitan oil spill and replaced it, figuring anything that dissolved tar would be bad for rubber and it wasn't worth cleaning. Mistake.

I bought more at pac wild, thinking all rubber is created equal. Nope. This stuff tore after only a few months. After asking around, general conclusion seems to be that the readily available stuff from trident is soft and tears quickly, no one knows where to get the good stuff.

Mori has some but it's double thick, it does not work in normal buckles and it can't really be woven normally through a backplate.

I've gone back to normal web belt, but it's surprising how uncomfortable it is. That little bit of stretch in the rubber belt was really nice.

Anyone know of other sources?
