Visibility was wide open at a good 40 feet Saturday.
First dive Dove Point Pinos across from the golf course in Pacific Grove. Tons of blue and black rockfish, senoritas, a few nice lings, anemones. Second dive dove Lovers Point Left side facing ocean. Walked down the steps. Anemones the size of Frisbees, all kinds of perch, a few rockfish. Went out to the kelp/reef. This was a very clear dive. A man coming in had a nice stringer of cabezon. It would have been easy picking today. They were having a big freediving/spearfishing tournament from Coral Street north to Point Pinos. Lots of kayaks and divers. Took lots of video with my Ikelite/Nikon. Bamboo Reef and Aquarius still great dive shops. Monterey is 200 miles from my house in Visalia, but real worth the work. Get out there. NOAA buoy said today was 2 ft. Looked more like 0 to me. Brian Xavier
