Zirfaea pilsbryi (Rough piddock) from Santa Rosa Island, California |
Posted by Chris on June 19, 2016 at 12:34:12: Last week I was on a three day halibut hunt aboard the Peace. On two of the dives I took my camera instead of my speargun. These photos are from a dive in the sand on the East end of Santa Rosa Island on June 7, 2016 just after noon. The depth was 55 to 70 feet. Visibility was 20 to 25 feet.  l The water temerature was about 55°F. Zirfaea pilsbryi (Rough piddock, Pilsbry piddock, Pacific rough piddock)
