The next Seadiver General Meeting will be Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Round Table Pizza, 4330 Redondo Beach Blvd. (just east of Hawthorne Blvd. in the Northpoint/CVS Shopping Center) Torrance, CA where all our general meetings are held. Go to http://seadivers.org/meetings.htm for a map. Meetings are free and visitors are especially welcome to attend.

July 5. There will be a meeting but no special program. Enjoy the July Fourth holiday.

August 2. Gary Hild will give a presentation about Seasonal Environmental Awareness Considerations while Skin and Scuba Diving in Los Angeles County. The presentation centers on current year weather, swell and surf patterns and safe practices, with examples of popular dive sites in Los Angeles County. This seminar also provides a review of the NOAA and CDIP weather, swell and surf and seasonal forecasting tools and techniques for dive planning in Los Angeles County. Also covered will be the available Los Angeles County Underwater Unit http://www.lacscuba.com/ programs for Skin Diving (“Freediving”) and SCUBA for repetitive acclimation exposure training in the Los Angeles County dive environment emphasizing physical conditioning and watermanship skills, oceanography, dive site conditions forecasting and planning under various turbulent water conditions and environments under the Los Angeles County Underwater Unit Lifeguards and Instructors.

September 6. There will be a meeting but no special program. Enjoy the Labor Day holiday.

October 4. Lorraine Sadler of the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber will give a new program about Sex and the Single Sea Serpent.

November 1. Sunken Mysteries of the West. Literally thousands of shipwrecks and sunken objects lay hidden beneath the waters of the Western States, from treasure-laden steam ships and antiquated submerged trains to forgotten sunken cities and World War II aircraft. In this program David Finnern of the California Wreck Divers http://www.cawreckdivers.org/ travels beneath the waves and explores some of the enigmatic and time-obscured relics and historical treasures lost below Western waterways and the Pacific Ocean.

December 6. Larry Breazeale of the Historical Diving Society http://www.hds.org/ and the California Classic Equipment Divers will present a program on these two organizations. He will bring some diving helmets and other equipment to show.
