Monterey Dive Report- Lover's Point/Point Pinos |
Posted by B. Xavier on August 27, 2016 at 19:11:58:
Went out to far kelp bed off Lover's Point. At 50 feet could probably see at least 30-40 feet. Big anemones the size of Frisbees. Lots of fish. Second dive was Point Pinos off the golf course (Pacific Grove). A little rough there with currents. You have to watch this place. Lots of blue rockfish here. 3 hours drive each way, but it's always worth it. Learning to use my new Mares Puck Pro computer. Pretty cool. Monterey shootout this weekend. One guy in Bamboo Reef said he saw a triggerfish and the other guys thought he was crazy. Reports of Sheepshead in lots of place in Monterey. Even a report of a Garibaldi. Not sure on that one. B.
