Posted by J. Reeb on June 22, 2017 at 20:07:40: FYI: My friend Jon Davies, a dive professional at Pacific Wilderness, has a private trip going on the Peace to San Clemente Island. Boards at 8 pm Saturday 16th, departs 10pm. Returns 6 pm Tuesday 19th. He has 1/2 the boat -- San Francisco Reef Divers club has the other half. Jon describes the trip here: "I wasn't really looking to do a charter but I love diving Clemente and for some reason it's hard to find trips going there these days. There's 28 spots available total for both groups. It's spearfishing-friendly. I will be hunting on scuba and freediving for yellowtail and possibly tuna (they are showing up already as they have done for the last few years). I really enjoy diving off the Peace - it's not as big and fancy as the Truth boats but the crew works harder than any other and I always have a great time when I go out with them. Conditions permitting, the plan is to spend two days at San Clemente and then hit another spot (possibly Farnsworth) on the way back to Ventura. Trip fee: $450. Contact Jon : |
