Cozumel – July/August 2017 – Year of the slugs. Sea slugs (Opisthobranchs) are related to marine snails but have minimized or eliminated the shell. For some reason, we do not find large numbers of slugs in Cozumel. This year was an exceptional year in that we encountered several new (to us) slugs. Cozumel has been an annual vacation destination for us since 1991. Each year, like swallows, we return.
