During my last years at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, I Macgyver'd micro-plankton photos by putting Phil's point-and-shoot camera up to the eyepiece of an old microscope. An energetic, young journalist discovered my images on SmugMug, contacted me and wrote this article.
