The next General Meeting will be on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Round Table Pizza, 4330 Redondo Beach Blvd.
in Torrance, CA where all our general meetings are held. Go to http://seadivers.org/meetings.htm for a map.

Meetings are free and visitors are especially welcome to attend.

October 2. Rainer Otto, a Dive 'N Surf club member, will be showing his video. He has so many beautiful international and local underwater videos. The topic will be selected soon and you will be notified next time. See his Video diving album for the variety of diving he has documented over the years:

November 6. Dale Scheckler, Editor at Large of California Diving News and organizer of past Scuba Shows in Long Beach will be presenting to TSD, probably about diving sites near Los Angeles, especially at the various Channel Islands. Dale has literally written a book about this subject, so attend this informative program.

December 4. Dr. Tony Knight serves on the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council. His presentation is Introducing Your Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary https://channelislands.noaa.gov/. The Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary is a protected area that surrounds the Channel Islands National Park and administered by NOAA. The presentation will help divers to better understand the Sanctuary with regard to current research, management, and education. The Marine Conservation Areas and Marine Reserves around the islands will be discussed including research on Marine Protected Areas worldwide. Current issues such as invasive species and the role of divers to help identify and halt the spread of these will be highlighted. Most importantly, he will discuss ways divers can enjoy, protect, and contribute to the health of this precious ecosystem.
