| Palos Verdes Dive Site; Merry's Reef |
|
Posted by Max Bottomtime on January 15, 2019 at 18:16:49: One of the first reefs I found on Google Earth was a large kelp forest with a nice wall off Honeymoon Cove. During our first dive there I searched the south end of the reef while Merry explored the north. She found a really nice wall with a lot of different rockfish species and nudibranchs, so I named it Merry's Reef. The top of the reef has a thick kelp forest in thirty-five feet. The wall drops to fifty-five feet with gorgonians and sponges growing from the vertical rock. Blue rockfish congregate around the northwest corner of the wall. 33° 45.846N 118° 25.612W
