Palos Verdes Dive Site; Little Reef |
Posted by Max Bottomtime on January 16, 2019 at 12:34:03: One half mile northwest of Pt. Vicente at 33° 44.824N 118° 25.095W is Little Reef. It is a series of large rocks adjacent to each other, creating an underwater maze. In poor visibility, it is easy to get lost even when you are within a hundred feet of the center of the reef. Fortunately, visibility is usually better in this area. Little Reef is just outside the Pt. Vicente Marine Protected Area. During lobster season there is a line of traps stretching westward from Little Reef to Hawthorne Reef. Depths range from sixty feet to forty-five feet.
