CHAMBER DAY & CHAMBER EVE 2019 - WEDNESDAY, MAY 1 - SAVE THE DATE!!!

Yahoo!!! We made it past $40,000!!!

We start this update off with acknowledging a contribution that hits close to home: A Gold-level donation from Cindy Sipsey in memory of her late brother Dr. Jeff Sipsey, who was the medical director the our Chamber for umpteen years. Amazingly, Jeff was not a diver and sort of thought we were a bit off-kilter for spending so much time underwater, but he was always there to help out when divers got in trouble. We also have a second Gold-level contribution (they were Silver last year) from the Jeremy & Marlo Wolf Family Fund. The Wolf family certainly recognizes the importance of our Chamber and has increased their donation this year in recognition of the value our Chamber provides to the diving community.

And we have a slew of $500 Silver donations, the first of which underscores the value of corporate matching grants. It comes from Angi & Ron Burkard, and is matched by another $500 from Angi’s longtime (but now retired from) employer Phillips 66/76. There’s a donation from Susy Horowitz who’s not only a longtime Chamber supporter, but also a member of our steering committee and our Mailing Chairperson (in other words, she co-ordinates all the mailing for tickets and stuff to you required to get you into the various parts of the event). There’s a contribution from Mike Couffer at Grey Owl Biological Consulting whose passion is research into Giant Sea Bass. And last but not least this go-round is a Silver donation from Ken Kollowitz and Channel Islands Dive Adventures, another local operator supporting the Chamber we all hope we never need.
