Upcoming Seadiver Meetings, next June 4 with Dale Sheckler |
Posted by Peter on May 29, 2019 at 12:54:16: The next General Meeting will be Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Round Table Pizza, 4330 Redondo Beach Blvd., Torrance, CA where all our general meetings are held. Meetings are free and visitors are especially welcome to attend. June 4, Dale Sheckler - Fun with California Marine Life. Animals of the California oceans exhibit specific behavior patterns that, properly understood, can add greatly to the enjoyment of any California dive. Knowing how these creatures will react in various situations will help you improve your underwater photography and will expand your understanding of how each animal fits into their ecosystem. Furthermore, you will find that on a limited basis you can interact with these animals. Dive often enough in one spot may even get to know some animals on individual basis. Also covered will be how NOT to interact with California marine life. Dale is Founder and currently Editor-At-Large of the California Diving News magazine. He also started the annual Scuba Show event which recently has been located in the Long Beach Convention Center. Checkout https://cadivingnews.com/author/dale-sheckler/ for more information about Dale. He is the author of popular local diving books including Southern California's Best Beach Dives and Diving and Snorkeling Guide to Southern California. July 2. There will be a meeting but no special program. Have a Happy Fourth of July holiday. August 6. Don Mueller - Underwater Videos from Around the World. Longtime TSD Club Member, aka Lobster Don, will narrate and show some amazing new underwater videos he made. Don and Cathy previously organized TSD Reunions and still leads annual marine fundraisers for school kids at the Port Royal Yacht Club. September 3. There will be a meeting but no special program. Have a Happy Labor Day holiday. October 1. Peter Landecker, Arranging Diving From a Cruise Ship. Some dive boat liveaboards are big, but Peter has arranged diving from several 1000 foot long "mother" ships. For example, last month he was diving in a volcanic crater, the deepest lake in Nicaragua. He has also taken a scuba ship underwater excursion in Aruba. And he did a great day of diving in Wellington, New Zealand. Peter will celebrate his birthday on this day! Checkout http://tinyurl.com/pblandecker for more information about Peter.
