As long as you are bored and stuck inside bored, here's a history lesson. The long stairs at vets are from the old Hotel Redondo, built in 1890 and torn down in 1925. It was there because redondo was a deep water port, due to the canyon. The long stairs were once a grand hotel staircase, they are now mostly covered with ice plant. There is an old photo of them at this page (active link below)
