We’re bubbling under $60,000!!! When will we cross that threshold??

A large share of the credit for our latest jump goes to Maja Vrvilo, a longtime diver and Chamber Day supporter who has signed on again at the Gold level but has increased her donation this year to $2,500. Maja loves to dive but also loves knowing that if something goes wrong to her or anyone she’s diving with, that our Chamber will be standing at the ready to help. And her donation helps make that happen.

We also welcome back to the donor list Scott Barnes at the Silver level. Like Maja Vrvilo, Scott is also a regular contributor to Chamber Day and understands that as a diver in Southern California, it’s a good feeling to step up and make a donation to something as vital to our overall safety as our Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber.

But please don’t let our amazing progress so far lull you into a sense of complacency. Because the USC Wrigley campus where the Chamber is located has been closed for the past year, it has also meant that we haven’t been able to run the classes or training sessions we normally would that also generate income for the Chamber. So we are faced with not only hoping that Challenge contributors from last year will come through again this year, but we have the added task of replacing the lost class/training income as well. So while we may be on a record pace (we’re ahead of last year at this same time), it’s a steeper hill to climb in 2021.
