Visitor from the past and a possible new nudibranch sighting |
Posted by Max Bottomtime on June 19, 2021 at 15:42:35: The live beach cameras looked better than the swell models this morning so Merry and I headed out to a small reef off Torrance Beach. Merry found a halibut that didn't mind the intrusive creatures with the bright lights. It allowed us to photograph it from every angle. It's the first halibut I've seen in years. I saw Merry checking out an area inshore from the reef so I headed toward her to see what she was concentrating on. I had to slam on the brakes before I reached her when I spotted a nudibranch that I didn't recognize. I took one shot in situ before wafting it onto a stage. I'm still looking for an identification. Visibility was better than thirty-five feet. It turned out to be our second dive this year that wasn't horrible. :)
