WE BLASTED PAST $100,000!!!!! Wow.

A huge part of our quantum leap forward comes from the continued support of the Sherry Griswold Foundation. They have been a longtime Diamond-level supporter of our Chamber for a number of years now – sometimes fronting for other organizations – and their commitment to our Chamber is deeply appreciated. (They also will have a presence at Chamber Eve.) So we were very gratified to add them to our list again this year.

We also have a very special “In memory of” Gold-level donation from Cindy Sipsey in memory of her brother, the beloved Dr. Jeff Sipsey. Dr. Sipsey was the longtime medical director of our Chamber and, even though he personally didn’t dive, he would do everything he could to help treat those divers in need of his expertise.

And, not to focus only on our larger donors, we also have a slew of $100 donations today, some of which recognize individuals, showing again that every dollar helps keep our Chamber on firm financial footing in these sometimes uncertain economic times.

When we opened for business March 1, never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d have a shot at beating the Challenge record you all set last year. Yet here we are, less than $1,000 away from eclipsing that lofty total. My instinct is to say “Can we do it?” but with a little over a week to go, I’d have to say the question is not whether we can do it but WHEN will it happen and how high can we go? Can we hit $120K? That’s up to you.
