If we sounded excited yesterday when we crossed the $100K mark, we’re even more excited today.

We are pleased to acknowledge that today Beach Cities Scuba, a longtime and fervent supporter of our Chamber and this event, has pledged a $10,000 donation to the Challenge. Wow.

For many years, Beach Cities has donated to the Challenge. At first it was $1,000 along with a Chamber Eve table. Then a few years ago Hosam upped that to $5,000 and a couple of tables. And now Hosam and DJ are doubling that amount while still sponsoring two Chamber Eve tables. On top of that DJ (Mansfield) is a member of our Steering Committee, deals with some of our social media stuff, and also helps with prize acquisition. It’s a commitment of time and resources that we truly and deeply appreciate.

It’s sort of like the old joke about ham and eggs demonstrating level of commitment to something. The chicken was involved. The pig was committed. Beach Cities is committed.

As for you, we’re happy just to get you involved. And it doesn’t take a $10,000 donation to do that (although we’re more than happy to accept it if that’s what you’d like to do.) How about $100? $500? Or even $1,000? Every dollar we raise goes towards funding our Chamber. And this is the time to remind that you our Chamber needs to get enough money, every single year, to cover about 55% of the operating costs. So think of your donation at any level as an annual subscription fee that keeps us running.

We’re inside of two weeks now but there’s still plenty of time for you to act and get involved. You don’t have to have the level of commitment that Beach Cities Scuba has, but we’d love to get your name on our list below.
