Wasted days and wasted dives |
Posted by Max Bottomtime on August 12, 2023 at 14:04:53: Merry and I dived the Star of Scotland wreck this morning. The surface was flat as a lake, the overcast sky was perfect for drysuit diving, and the surface water was bluer than we've seen in a long time. Those conditions didn't last long. Visibility on the wreck was a dark six feet. There were no Giant Sea Bass, no nudibranchs, and the wreck has collapsed a lot since our last dive here. By the time we surfaced, the wind had come up and it was so hot that I was sweating profusely in my bunny suit. Water temps were 60° on the bottom and 70° at the surface. I miss the low 50s from our last dives around Palos Verdes.
