We’re making good progress as we pass $115,000 . . . but we’re still waiting to hear from a bunch of you who donated last year.

Leading the pack today are stalwart Chamber supports Tom Turney & Jill Boivin. They return to us with a Gold-level $1,000 donation. Tom & Jill are both very active in the local diving community and are involved with many on-going scientific projects around the island, and they surely understand that a diver can suddenly have an issue arise that calls for chamber treatment and that’s why they want to make sure ours is at the ready when needed.

On the $500 Silver level, we have another pair of returning donors. First up is Ashley Peache and the Catalina Island Marine Institute / Catalina Sea Camp program. Sea Camp has summer programs to introduce kids to the ocean, including diving (Ashley is the Dive Director), and that means those children need to know about our Chamber too. They’re joined at the Silver level by our fervent supporters from Eco Dive Center in Culver City, one of the many dive shops we count on each year to make this event a success. Eco not only supports the Challenge, but they’re usually our largest Ch-Eve table sponsor as well.

And a quick non-Challenge word for Eco: Last night we had a Chamber Eve table open up and Eco has agreed to try to fill it (as their fourth table). They already sold two spots but have eight to go. They’re always a fun group so if you’re looking for a last-minute seat, get hold of Ron or Beth at Eco and snag a spot. And then prepare to have a great time with them on May 1.
