Offshore windy day |
Posted by Max Bottomtime on January 13, 2025 at 18:08:53: With strong Santa winds the past week, the ocean has flattened quite a bit. Merry Passage and I tried our luck at Christmas Reef this morning. Visibility was only ten feet, but the reef looked very healthy. There were new sponges since the last dive we made there. Trapania velox nudibranchs dotted some of the red volcano sponges. I had a bycatch of a Tenellia flavovulta, a tiny nudibranch that only Merry had photographed. It was too small for me to see, so my nudi page remains devoid of this little guy. Merry found another new salp during her safety stop. Hopefully, she will be able to identify it soon.
