Pacific Star History
  • Built in 1977 in San Diego, California as a long range fishing boat named Bold Contender.
  • In 1986 it was moved to 22nd Street Landing in San Pedro, California and converted to a dive boat.
  • The boat was purchased by PacStaR Charters in February 1993.
  • The boat was refitted from March through August 1993 in Marina Del Rey, California
    • 3 new transmissions
    • 1 new engine, 2 others replaced in 1995
    • 1 new generator
    • new bunk room with dry camera work area
  • Operated from Moss Landing, California : October 1993-January 1996
  • January 1996 moved to Monterey, California
  • 1997-1998 Live-Aboard trips to the Farallon Islands
  • Ceased commercial operation August 1998
  • Easy conversion back to long range fishing boat.
