Summary and Introduction To Analysis This section has three parts. The first part is to summarise the the previous analysis of human ecology. The second part is to offer considerations of how we can adapt physically and psychologically, through the transition to a new, relatively stable ecology. The third part is to discuss the social organizational methods that we may be able to use. Since the basis of human survival strategies is cooperation, the organizational systems and paradigms that we can use, will have great importance. 1. a. Technology b. Reproduction c. Democracies e. Socialisms f. Religions Survival is the essence of conservatism. When projecting considerations of human adaptation, the problem must be considered from a number of points of view. First, the issue of what we must do to adapt to present circumstances. Second, is a consideration of potential niches that we could inhabit and the adaptations that would be necessary. The third consideration would be a discussion of factors that we may be forced to adapt to in the future. Any consideration of future potentials and problems, must remain limited to general discussions of ecological factors, because any specific predictions will become meaningless over time. Still, since human evolution is going to be infleunced by human desire, some discussion must be speculative and project into the future. Also, a number of specific hazards that we may encounter and already are starting to encounter can be discussed. The intention is not really to make accurate predictions, but more it is to illustrate how problems can be analyzed from an ecological perspective.Back
