I went out today to Malibu with my kayak-diving buddy and did a dive. Despite seeing a whale pass by as we geared up, it was disappointing. The viz was still about 10 feet at best. Does anybody know why the low viz is persisting for so long? The ocean surface was beautifully calm, it hasn't rained in some time, and the winds were still. Also, the water was 52 Suunto degrees, so it doesn't seem to be plankton bloom. Can anybody explain what's happening?
