Interesting. In my 22 hour long NAUI class in 1970 we had to do a share air and ascend drill. If you have air, never let go of your regulator. If you don't have air, never let go of the other diver's strap and keep looking them in the eye. That was after the harassment drills and ditch and don. Of course that was before Octos... or SPGs... or BC's too.
If you think I'm annoying now, you should have seen me at 15.
