Aha! Finally a post about Northern Ca. that I can get in on.
Randy Frei up in Ft. Bragg was taken out because he was diving by one of the biggest seal rookeries up there. People who ab dive at the mouth of Tomales or at the seal rock at the mouth of Bodega are asking for it also in my opinion.
Up at Sea Ranch you should have no problem at all, in fact I wouldn't even give it a second thought.
With terrain that rugged and rocks sticking out of the water everywhere doesn't make for prime seal hunting area for GW's. Stay in fairly close and enjoy yourself. I see a few seals here and there laying around but not in the great numbers.
It should be a good weekend up there, they are predicting only 5-7 foot swells and the winds should be down.
Maybe I'll have to get out there myself.
