Why? Because we do not read every post and if you choose to complain to the choir instead of sending an email to an editor then you take your chances of when or if an offending post gets noticed.
Your insinuation of malfeasance is disingenuous. The effort on your part to bury a complaint in a nondescript BBS thread or send a direct email to an editor is the virtually the same. However, the outcome is dependent on if you really want the post removed or you simply want to complain.
If you find a post offensive why not take the most constructive course of action and send an email to an editor so it can be removed?
