If the surf is big enough to embolize you, don't dive.
Keep the reg in your mouth going in and coming out.
Coming out, keep it there until you are 10' into
dry sand.
Monastary is an advanced dive site, mostly because
you have to have the sense and experience to walk
away one day in three.
