I can understand that you were upset, but this isn't uncommon in the dive industry. I've been scheduled on TWO trips with Dive Connections out of San Diego, and both have cancelled. One for boat mechanical issues, one for lack of participation. I wasn't happy either time, but accepted it as just part of the game. I'll sign up to dive again.
The economics of a situation are that you can't afford to run a boat if there aren't paying customers. If all boats lost money, then there wouldn't be any dive boats for us to go diving from...and now that would be a real bummer, right?
